Rooms are blocked...
We have blocked rooms at Flanders for the night of the reception. When calling, please tell them it is for the Rinehart Wedding. They have single hotel rooms and they also have two bedroom suites. The suites have a kitchen and living room area. I saw one when Ryan and I booked the reception. I did not see one of the hotel rooms. Here is the deal with the suites...they have two bedrooms. They have a living room area, kitchen, plasma TV, etc. Usually they have a two night minimum, however, if you think you may want one I would call before the end of August. Right now they have summer help working reservations. When I spoke to the manager (Gloria) today she said that if the rooms get booked for one night then she'll blame it on the seasonal help. There are individual rooms that you can book that you can book that do not have this little special stipulation. So, I have pictures of one of the promenade suites below:

The Menu...
The food will not be hawaiian. We decided that not everyone would like luau food. So, we decided on a buffet so that everyone can decide what they want. (From Ryan's viewpoint, he likes to be able to have seconds.) So, here is a list of what is on the menu:
Caesar salad
Fresh Mozzarella, Smoked Provolone, Cappacola, Pepperoni, Salami, Roasted Peppers, Olives, Artichoke Hearts, and Sun Dried Tomatoes in Garlic Infused Olive Oil
Fresh tossed salad with assorted dressing
Prime Rib
Roast Pork Loin with stuffed Mozzarella, seasoned spinach, and garlic demi-glaze
Cheese Tortellini with a Tomato Basil Sauce
Pencil point penne with Champagne Sauce
Shrimp and Scallop Scampi
Garlic and Chive Smashed Potatoes
Seasonal vegetable assortment
Bread display
Grand Finale (a little something to remind us all of the boardwalk)
Wedding Cake
It was important that we got expert advice when it came to cake tasting. Thankfully, our niece Ashley was up to the challenge. When you can't decide on one flavor, why not have four! All I can say is, "Save room for dessert!" We chose Mocha, which was a chocolate cake with a Mocha filling. Black velvet, which had a rasberry filling. Apple cake with caramel filling. Vanilla butter cake with apples and cinnamon. Which one will you have? Well, we are putting a fun twist on the traditional wedding cake. You'll have to come to find out what we have in store!
What to wear...
So, here is the fun part. The reception is a hawaiian, beach theme. Pretty much, anything goes. Bright colors, floral prints, hawaiian shirts, surf wear, coconut bras, grass skirts, whatever makes you happy. It is November, so dress in layers if you need to. We just want everyone to be comfortable. So, don't pack away all of your summer clothes just yet!
What not to wear...
For those who are wonder, here is a list that we like to call "What Not To Wear":
1) Suits. Let's be honest, girls. Do you really enjoy having to iron their shirts, make sure they are wearing dress socks, and try straightening out their tie. Guys think that it is a hassle to wear. Who is laying out your clothes? Women have enough to worry about, dressing men should not be one of them.
2) High heels. They look great...but they hurt like hell. Where do the shoes end up anyway? Under the table or beside the dance floor. So, leave them at home in your closet!
3) Anything that looks uncomfortable!

In case you're wondering....
Just because we're going to Hawaii to get married that doesn't mean we do not wish for our families to share in our special day. However, Ryan and I don't expect anyone to hop on a plane. Instead, we will be having a reception when we return. We will have plenty of pictures and a video of the wedding to share with all of you. We are still ironing out the details as far as date and time, but we will be sure to share that with all of you as soon as possible.
And for those who enjoy surfing the web...Give us your ideas of places to go and things to do. We will be sure to take lots of pictures to share with all of you!
Speaking of pictures, double click on the slide show in order to see the captions. E-mail me pictures and I will add them to the slide show. That way we can share some of our favorite memories.
